York NRM to build 'Yorkshire Eye'

The National Railway Museum in York has been given the go ahead to construct our very own version of the London Eye.

The observation wheel will be 200 feet high, only 30 feet shorter than York Minster  – following the rule that all constructions in York must be lower than York Minster.

Those behind the project say it will offer visitors stunning views over the city and up to 20 miles beyond.
