Woman sees her brother die in run

A FITNESS fanatic from Yorkshire who entered the Great North Run with his sister to raise money for her terminally -ill son died less than a mile from the finish line as she watched in horror the desperate efforts to save him.

Reuben Wilson, 28, a property developer from Rawdon, Leeds, was one of four competitors who collapsed and died in stifling heat during the 13-mile course in Newcastle on Sunday. Experienced runner, civil servant David Mahaffey, 43, from Acomb, in York, was less than a kilometre from the end when he too collapsed and died.
