Australian sprinter Fastnet Rock has failed to recover sufficiently from travel sickness and has been ruled out of the Royal Ascot carnival at York in England. A disappointed trainer Paul Perry, who was due to fly to England on Sunday, said the colt was fine but his bout of travel sickness had proved too great a setback to press on to the King's Stand Stakes on Tuesday week and Golden Jubilee Stakes just days later."It's disappointing. He's fine the horse, he did a bit of slow work this morning, but he's not well enough to push on and do what we should do with him," Perry said. "He's alright but he's not completely recovered."Perry ruled out Fastnet Rock having another start in Australia but said there was a slim hope he could still line up in next month's July Cup at Newmarket. "He's still got that if things did go right," Perry said. Perry was hoping Fastnet Rock could emulate the deeds of former stablemate Choisir two years ago and claim the Royal Ascot carnival's prestigious sprint double before his scheduled retirement to Coolmore Stud this spring.
