A DIRECTOR at a Yorkshire council has been suspended while the local authority conducts an inquiry.

David Finnegan, the director of York Council's commercial services department, will face a disciplinary hearing after he was suspended during the last week over the undisclosed allegations.
Senior council members met yesterday to discuss establishing a disciplinary panel of between three and five councillors to deal with the case.
Coun Andrew Waller (Lib Dem, Westfield), is chairing the Urgency Committee while council leader Stephen Galloway (Lib Dem, Westfield), is away.
Coun Waller said: "Following the suspension of a council director, we are following the human resources procedures which have been put in place by the local authority.
"We are ensuring that the directorate continues to run efficiently and we are providing support and making the necessary resources available."
The commercial services directorate is responsible for providing refuse collection, school and office cleaning, road and footpath works, drainage and pothole repairs as well as gas, electric and building repairs.
