Handover of top beauty crownBY CHRIS MURPHY A PAIR of aces pose together as the Miss Leeds crown passes from one Yorkshire rose to another. Sarah Butler has come to the end of her tenure as the city's top talent and has now handed it on to 21-year-old Becky Ward from Cookridge. And as these pictures show, the title is in good hands. Sarah, 22, from Horsforth, has had a busy year representing the city at various events around the country – and at the prestigious Miss England contest – but away from the catwalk she's managed to squeeze in a nursing qualification and enrolment into the Royal Navy. She said: "It's been something a bit different and I've really, really enjoyed this year. "As Miss Leeds I've been really proud to represent the city and I've had the chance to meet loads of people and make lots of friends. "But I've loved my training with the Royal Navy, it's been so exciting and different. I can't wait to get back to it." Sarah passed on some inside tips to Becky – and Georgia Horsley who is this year's Miss York – at the launch of a new range of Miss England sportswear by Butler Manufacturing of Yeadon. Becky will now represent Leeds is this year's Miss England contest which is to be held in Liverpool in September. "I'm really excited at becoming Miss Leeds," said Becky. "I was told I was in the final five a while ago but then I didn't hear anything for a while, so when I got a call to say I'd won I was really surprised – I was shaking and crying. "I've always been interested in beauty contests and modelling so this is a great opportunity for me, and hopefully it'll be a lot of fun too. "I'm so proud to be Miss Leeds because it's such a fantastic city, full of friendly people." l Part of the Miss England 2005 contest is held via text votes from the public.
