The Abbey Church, The Sacrist's office

The sacrist's office

In the fourteenth century a small building was added to the north side of the northernmost chapel of the transept. It was partly demolished when the tower was built, but its remains show that it had been vaulted and that it had a doorway in its east wall. Its purpose is not certain, but it may have been the sacrist's office, or perhaps a library.
